Oh, Greed Shows Its Face Again UGH!!

Well, hey, hey, hey there!

Going forward, we’ll dub this the “whenever he gets around to it” blog. Lol.

Alright, alright—so we’ve made some nice quality-of-life updates around the school in various ways, but I’ll focus on two small updates to the site.

We want to be abundantly clear and direct about the price difference between ISH and other schools because, honestly, I’m disappointed in the heart of our industry. Lately, greed has really been contributing to my stress and overall annoyance with mankind. When you see close friends and family genuinely affected by affordability, it makes you a little more emotional about it.

When you reach your own personal level of success, please don’t gatekeep. Think of ISH and the team here. This business is set up very differently in order to keep these doors open and make sure you have the opportunity to work in the industry of your dreams—or honestly, the industry that simply pays the bills. Maybe it isn’t what you dreamed of doing, but you need to do it. I’ve met many people in that position.

Innovative isn’t a gatekeeper. These doors are wide open for everyone.

My mother, Tammy—the original founder—and I even help competitors start schools and programs. I’m not saying that for brownie points, my dear reader. But I’ve obtained enough success to be fortunate enough to help keep a door to your dreams open, just as many others have been blessed enough to keep doors open in other areas of life.

Because that’s what it’s about.

It’s not directly about me. I’ll be fine. Hell, I’m 31—I’ve gone through a fair amount.

You know who doesn’t know they’ll be fine? The person who is more than a decade younger than me. That person doesn’t know what the future is going to hold. They’re barely an adult. They just dream that life is going to be fine and believe it with all their might.

It’s cute and sweet, but those of us with experience and wisdom know the world can be very different from our dreams.

So, for the dreamers—for those dreaming simply to get by; for those dreaming to care for others; for those dreamers who merely want to check someone’s pulse because they think it’s really cool; for those who dream of seeing a smile on someone’s face after a major milestone; and for all the other dreamers—remember: it takes all of us to keep this world a dream.

It doesn’t have to be so harsh.

Let this be a letter to our community and to the leaders of other institutions: I ask that you recognize the financial strain we can cause when we abuse the gates to people’s livelihoods.

I’m not saying we can’t make a profit. But we can do so ethically.

For those who may find themselves on the road in their travels, if you see someone looking for a hand, be that hand. This world can be the dream we dream of. It takes you and me—action by action, community by community.

Anyway — thank you for reading this. Every decision I make for this company is made with heart. I think about the people it will touch, the lives it might shift, even in small ways. If you're reading this, it means something. It means you're part of that.
